Death Cafe
The Death Cafe is a group-directed, donation-based, open discussion of loss, death and life while having a cup of tea and cake together. Everyone is welcome. The aim is to decrease the stigma around this topic, bring awareness to this essential part of our lifes and offer a friendly, safe, and informal space to share, listen and learn. It is not a bereavement support or group counselling session.
The Death Café is bringing awareness to the topics of loss, death and dying in a light, informal yet touching way. We can learn from each other and grow in understanding of our own mortality, explore questions and be present to different life approaches and experiences. Learning from Death is inseparable from learning about life.
We have around 2-3 hours to have a group-directed, open discussion of loss, death and life while having a cup of tea and cake together in Café or retreat space. Depending on the individual event it can be a small group up to 15 people.
“The death cafe with Stefanie was a meaningful experience. I felt held by her gentle and attentive facilitation. I truly enjoyed listening to other people’s shares, and although themes were very deep, the conversation flew light and natural. It was enriching and I look forward to attending more.“
